Global Hauri and ViRobot Expert
In order to enjoy
the Internet today, maintaining effective and up-to-date antivirus software
is essential. There are many different software packages available, and
they all have advantages and disadvantages. It can be hard to choose,
hard to know what claims to believe.
In August of 2003, BRMEMC.net began to offer a repair/cleaning service
for our customers to help them get back online after being infected
with malware (worms, viruses, Trojans, spyware and adware). After cleaning
hundreds of PC's BRMEMC.net determined that one of the most common
causes of viral infection was having expired or out of date antivirus
software,
software that was not capable of detecting the latest class of malware
or software which had, itself, been compromised by infection. In most
of these cases the infection was degrading connectivity or making it
impossible for the customer to connect at all. We used several antivirus
clients on the work bench to correct these problems. The tool that
we used again and again, especially when some of the others failed
to clean certain viruses, was ViRobot Expert. In literally hundreds
of uses on the bench, it did not fail to clean or delete a detected
virus, often when other programs had failed.
Another advantage we found in ViRobot is its small "footprint".
Many anti virus programs use so many system resources that they slow
down
a PC considerably. ViRobot does not affect system performance noticeably.
ViRobot is also easy to use. The interface is very user-friendly and
the program is easy to configure. Unlike most other anti virus programs,
ViRobot also detects and cleans spyware, which is a growing problem
concerning all Internet users.
In July of 2004, BRMEMC.net decided that we would offer a malware solution
to our customers. Weighing the advantages of the various software products
available, we decided to choose ViRobot for effectiveness, dependability,
ease of use and affordability.

ViRobot
enables you to scan attachments and detect viruses while you are receiving
emails, on a real-time basis.
ViRobot is registered on the Menu and Tool Bar of Microsoft Outlook.
It enables users to scan emails and edit the configuration for ViRobot.
If Microsoft Outlook is used as you mail client, ViRobot provides on-demand
scanning of local folders of infected attachments. ViRobot will automatically
detect Microsoft Outlook on the computer and enable the user interface
of this feature.
