The best way to setup a dialup connection on a Vista machine is to use a BRMEMC.NET setup disk version 6 or above. To setup the connection manually, begin by clicking the "Start" button and then "Control Panel."
From Control Panel (Classic View) click on "Network and Sharing Center."
From the Network and Sharing Center, click on "Setup a connection or network."

Select "Connect to the Internet" and click "Next."

Click the "Dial-up" button.

Enter the correct dialup number for your location:
| Georgia | 706-379-9850 |
| McCaysville | 492-2908 |
| Suches | 1-706-745-0090 (Verify that this is a local call for you - toll charges may apply.) |
| North Carolina | 837-5386 |
Enter the User name and Password provided by BRMEMC.NET and complete the form as indicated below. Check "Allow other people to use this connection" if multiple users login to your Vista system and will be using the dialup connection.

Be sure your phone line is plugged in to the "Line" side of your dialup modem and click the "Connect" button. When a connection is established, click the "Close" button.

Some configurations of Vista will prompt you to choose a location profile. The default setting is "Home," unless you use your computer at more than one location.

If you wish to create a dialup shortcut for the desktop, return to Control Panel and open the Network and Sharing Center. Click on Manage network connections.

Vista will respond that a shortcut cannot be placed here and will offer to create one on the desktop. Click "Yes."
